CLIMATE CHANGE, RESILIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
The Challenge
Malawi is on the frontlines of the climate crisis. The nation's heavy reliance on rain-fed agriculture makes its economy and the livelihoods of millions highly vulnerable to extreme weather events. Widespread deforestation has led to severe land degradation, trapping communities in a cycle of environmental decline and poverty, posing a threat to Malawi's development aspirations.
OSSEDI's Strategic Response
OSSEDI Malawi address this crisis with a two-pronged strategy that combines community-led ecosystem restoration with the adoption of clean energy. Our approach focuses on building long-term ecological and economic resilience, empowerment communities to become stewards of their environment and leveraging innovative carbon finance models to create sustainable funding for this critical work.
Flagship Projects and Demonstrated Impact
